Here you go
The tragic and astonishing story of Feanor, the little ball-like (=globuleux?) cat.
In autumn 2000, a friend offered me some kittens, which a homeless mother cat had given birth to in his living room.
"Aaah, I want them all"
At first I chose Fleya because she immediately came towards me to climb on me.
"Hi there, little one"
After that, it was Feanor's turn. He had enormous round/ball-like eyes and was too cute. I called him "little ball-like".
Once the kittens had been chosen, one had to wait for them to be weaned off their mother before taking them home.
One day little ball-like was playing on the staircase.
When - Sprotch - my friend's mother accidentally tramples him.
His little head is very much flattened (toute écrasée) by the merciless slipper (chausson).
When I hear this, I'm horrified. Little Feanor bleeds from his ears and does not eat for 3 days (there is a problem with the tense here, it's all present tense..). I fear the worst.
"WHAT? - mashed (écrabouillé)"
But Feanor survives. He gets back up and starts to behave normally again.
Well, nearly normally.
"He's a bit weird (bizarre) all things considered (quand même)? He's all frozen (fixe)"
"Youhou"
Feanor was still as adorable as ever but his eyes opened onto an inscrutable mystery (~ unsure whether the meaning is 'they see' or 'they offer' an unscrutable mystery)
Today, Feanor is a very cuddly (calin) cat.
He often keels over (literally 'falls') because he can't keep his equilibrium and doesn't know how to retract his claws.
He also sees mayn things that I cannot. (literally - that I don't)
"And to scratch his head, he moves forward while keeping his head on the table."
Feanor is a super cat.
I wouldn't have wanted any other :)
Humans who read this, do not leave slippers (a 'charentaise' == a kind of slipper worn in-house) within reach of kittens, thank you.
