I don't get the punchline either. Google implies it's some really stupid Toshiaki joke. Also, "morusua" seems to be some VIPPER joke I don't get either.

I, too, will echo Sougintou here.

I did a couple using Shadow[Aimai]'s translation notes in 4chan's /a/.

I like Waha's better though, but as you can see, I can't really fit all of that text inside of the bubbles and did trial and error with bold/resizing to get it to be readable. But it results in an in inconsistent effect.

I was using Paint Shop Pro 6 at the time, and now with better tools available I was hoping to get some advice on what font to use and tips.

Being new to photoshop, I'm not sure how to even make a white border around my text for placement on a dark background (example at left).

There's really no reason to have to resize that image (or any other - the main rule is to never, ever resize an image upwards). Just pick a decent font, and it will be completely readable. Your edit there also has far too large leading (that is, line spacing), and lacks most punctuation. That just makes it look sloppy.

To get outlines, use Blending Options -> Stroke in Photoshop. Oh, and you did the right thing to dump Paint Shop Pro. Its text rendering sucks completely.

But if you seriously want to do some manga editing, the first thing you should do is learn the basics of typography, and image editing. There are some decent tutorials around. I linked to some here, along with my own advice: http://shii.oppresstheweak.com/hr/res/169.html

And here we go, a Valentine's gift!

The "trifoilate orange" sounds sort of awkward, but apparently this bush doesn't have a better name in English. If you google it, though, you can see it's a pretty thorny thing!

I think that's called Osage Orange in English. It's notoriously thorny bush and tree from Texas
that was spread throughout the US as a hedgerow plant. It was promoted then (pre-barbed wire) as
being pig-proof. I've seen it along old farm roads in Pennsylvania. The fruits are basically
inedible. It's thought that at one time the seeds were spread by an species of animals that are
extinct today. The bush is great at stopping mountain bikers and such nowadays.

But then again, maybe not. It could be a Devil's Paintbrush

Not much to translate; Megu tickles Gin-chan, who get tired of it and punches Megu (with her wing), who goes "AAAARGH! I'M BLEEDING! I'LL DIE! I'LL DIEEE!!!", and Gin-chan goes "I'm sorry, Megu! Don't die!"

I'll probably edit it up later. I'd have to work out all the sound effects, and Gin-chan's "らめぇ!". Is that just a slurred "dame" or what?

>> No.2302
> Is that just a slurred "dame" or what?

Yes. "ら" often changes to "だ" when you are paralytic. Phonetically, Japanese "ら" isn't "La" or " Ra" and somewhat similar to "だ". Japanese preschool children often confuse them.
