This got pushed off the board, and it's as relevant as ever so I'll just repost it. The board post limit has also been drastically increased.

The source is still http://pine.zero.ad.jp/~zad98677/maid/iya1.htm and http://pine.zero.ad.jp/~zad98677/maid/iya2.htm.

Hi, IIChan translation group.

I just want to personally thank you for translating such a wonderful series.

One question though. Would the accurate english translation be "Victorian Rommance: Emma" or "Emma: a victorian romance", or simply just "Emma" like they did with the US localization?

also, I won't lie. /r/ Emma related pics plz.

>> No.2983

The title is literally "English love story Emma". As "English" doesn't really have much of an impact as a word in English, we used "Victorian", which seems to be preferred by the producers too, judging from the domain name.

Only the anime has the prefix. The manga is just "Emma".

("Well then, miss Just Emma...")

u guys have a torrent of volume 8 or still workin on it?

just finished reading the series today, loved it.

>> No.3176

There is no volume 8. There is just the Further Tales, and no tankubons are out yet, and we haven't decided if we're going to do anything with them when they are.

released in march 26th, I believe, right?

http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%93%E3%83%BC%E3%83%A0%E3%82%B3%E3%83%9F%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF%E3%82%B9-%E3%82%A8%E3%83%9E-8%E5%B7%BB-%E9%80%9A%E5%B8%B8%E7%89%88-%E6%A3%AE/dp/4757734492

also in http://www.emma-victorian.com/original_info.html

is there any project to release the whole volume torrent or where one can get the raws (you know, with the scanned cover and such).
Thanks in advance.

>> No.3315

Emma tankoubon #5 got released in Finland yesterday. The publisher advertises the series being 7 volumes long, but now I found out Mori has drawn 8th volume including pre- and post-era stories that take place before and after the manga. I hope that 8th book will be published too in here!

I'd really like to know what this board game is.

>> No.3253

Oh crap I think my grandmother had that game, or a version of it. It's too bad I'm in another country now. ;_;

>> No.3257

It's an older version of Goose Game?

>> No.3263

I did a lot of searching for this game at Board Game Geek and elsewhere and came up empty. It clearly has a cycling theme. I don't think it's a version of Goose, since most of those are spiral-track games. The back and forth path suggests it's a variant of Snakes and Ladders. A cycling-themed S&L is a reasonable guess, since cycling games were a little in vogue, and S&L had been translated into an English game from the original Indian/Hindu around this time.

I'm assuming the studio a) copied the board design from somewhere instead of inventing it and b) simplified board elements for clarity. Simplifying the board is what will make identifying this game difficult.

>> No.3277

Do you have any other shots of the board? I've posted a message at BGG looking for help IDing the game. Is there are action going on in the scene, like dice throwing or moving a piece? One person's suggested a game from the period, but I'm not convinced they're right.

This is what I thought of when you said vertical strips: http://personales.ya.com/anki/cyclingboardgames/g_landsend.htm

The closest game I could find was at the same site: http://personales.ya.com/anki/cyclingboardgames/g_parkernewbicycle.htm
It's vaguely similar, but I doubt it's the game, since it was published in the US. There are other cycling games of the era mentioned here, but I can't find much with Google.

Those aren't really close. I'm almost positive I saw a game board with nearly the same layout.
