OP here. Thanks, whispers; I am grateful. In return, I offer some more sexy Saber pics.
Is there a translation for this?

Here is an old project of mine, that finally got finished, thanks to a huge effort by mogura to untangle the tricky language in here. I am eternally grateful for this.I got the inspiration to finish this now to present a counter-point to Akamatsu's posting on moe: http://4-ch.net/anime/kareha.pl/1122583157
>>1759uhm...http://ja.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%E8%90%8C%E3%81%88&oldid=22804
All right... let me rephrase that... in a "real" encyclopedia made of dead trees.
The thing I don't get about moe, is that it's not supposed to be an overtly sexual thing; it's a warm, tender feeling, with a subtle sexual undercurrent. I've read that more than once, but it seems that often enough, creators of moe characters go to great lenghts to sexualize them. PetoPeto-san is the most obvious example, the characters are really cute, and I definitely see how one could feel moe for many of them, but then, they are sexualized so much that it makes me feel dirty. Petopeto's artist YUG has another manga called HemoHemo that features a very moe 14-year-old girl. I immediately see why she is moe. Undoubtedly, Japanese otaku in their 20's who would be reading this manga see her as a little sister. Hemohemo is completely devoid of any sexual images, the only instance of nudity is a bathing scene that's as innocent as the bathing scene in Totoro, yet watching your adolescent little sister taking a bath is sexual. I understand how something like that can fall under the moe umbrella, but not "oops I glomped your developing chest" - I expect to see that in something like Mai Hime or a harem anime.

>>1779I don't claim to do anything. I only know what I read, and I've pointed out that I've read more than once that moe isn't a sexual thing. I don't see how Mai Hime is a moe show really. If Mai Hime is moe, than just about anything is moe.

Sorry fucked up the Wikipedia quote. It should say "To many moé-loyalists." Anyway, I'm not trying to insist that moe IS not sexual. I'm only expressing my confusion because it's been defined as such.

Hoping if someone can help figure what the girl is saying. I think she is meant to be quoting Full Metal Jacket...

>>3057I think that "understand" would fit better. By the way, reading it again and I find that nearly everything she says is a direct quote from FMJ. I could look them up if you want the exact wording from the movie.
>>3057 >>3059Yep. I should have written "understand" or "interpret" instead of "read." Thanks.By the way, I searched for her name "アリス ハートマン" in Japanese with google. The author of the manga is 吉川かば夫 Kabao Kikkawa.I know his non-hentai manga, which is serialized by Media Works in the monthly magazine "Comic Alive". It's a slapstick comedy, too. He loves stupid puns, word plays and over actions. Maybe this is his style.

Well, you may be a hardcore Emma fan, but probably not fan enough to take the tube over to Oxford Circus station, take a leisurely walk up Regent Street, and take a right at New Cavendish, and take pictures wantonly. Well, I found it. I found Emma's house. It wasn't on Marylebone Street like how everyone says, but it's actually on New Cavendish itself. I did take a picture of a couple of places on Marylebone, but they didn't have the same facade as in the anime. I thought the ones from Marylebone were it, but upon inspection, this one looked the most like Emma's house. Too bad I didn't realize it and took more pictures of it.
I found this linked on the Japanese Emma page on Wikipedia:http://www.yks.ne.jp/~takaxo/food/Somebody else has been out having fun, too. But apparently they didn't go as far as finding the house.

Can someone translate this comment next to a photo of Negima books in a brit manga shop?「GOSH!」で「ネギま!」ですが私は深くは語らないでおこうフフフ。
To get there, go to the Oxford Circus Underground station, go out exit 4, then go north on Regent Street until it stops, then keep going north on Cavendish Place past the BBC Broadcasting House and Duchess Street, then turn left onto New Cavendish. It's between Haysmouth Mews and Harley Street.
The other building is 63.

Hi! I'm not sure if this is welcomed here, but I have a gigantic request. I was trying to some Emma cosplay and wanted to get her hair correct. I found this mag that had tips on how for her hair and makeup and was wondering if someone would be kind enough to translate it for me >w< I would be forever in your debt! If someone also wants, I can u/l the Shirley and William Hair and Makeup points as well. Again, thank you in advance for the help!!!!
Paging Mandy! Paging Mandy!
AKK sorry...I need to check back here more often!I will tell you what i can, but it was one of my earliest cosplays, i definately could have done some things better on it...As for makeup...i suck at it. STILL. I'm trying to learn to get better, but I wear very little just because I'm not good at putting it on. I went with a neutral colored eyeshadow, mascara, a little lip gloss, and powder...Emma is pretty natural anyway, so no need to overworry it. For the hair, i braided both sides into 2 'pigtail' style braids, then pulled them together and pinned them in the back. You're welcome to AIM me at TheAmazonMandy if you want, i'm sorry I'm not more help! I can't wait to see it done! :) Never enough Emmas out there!

Ack! I've been so swamped after AX that I haven't checked up on the boards lately. Thanks much for the tips, I basically did what you said for my cosplay cause I didn't find anyone to translate the page for me. I'm a big stickler for details so....I'm still hoping for this page to get deciphered.I would have a pic of my cosplay...but...I forgot to get a pic of myself the whole time I wore it! >w< I know that about 3-4 people recognized me and one said she'd put me on her site....so I think I'll steal that if I actually show up there and post it here. LOL Maybe now that Emma, the anime, has been licensed, I'll get some more recognition when I cosplay out. (I'm hoping to get 8 people next time!) ahahahahaha!
