I don't speak italian either, but I'm pretty sure that's French. For example, Italian uses a lot more vowels at the end of words, and "chat" is French for cat. It's gatto in Italian. Sadly, I don't speak much french either...
Just type the text into the Google translator...
Yeah, that's french.
Here you goThe tragic and astonishing story of Feanor, the little ball-like (=globuleux?) cat.In autumn 2000, a friend offered me some kittens, which a homeless mother cat had given birth to in his living room."Aaah, I want them all"At first I chose Fleya because she immediately came towards me to climb on me."Hi there, little one"After that, it was Feanor's turn. He had enormous round/ball-like eyes and was too cute. I called him "little ball-like".Once the kittens had been chosen, one had to wait for them to be weaned off their mother before taking them home. Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

Greetings from /jp/. A few hours ago Kumatanchi for the NDS was released, which I'm sure most of you already know. The only problem for some is that's it's in Japanese. Now if someone is willing to translate the script I'll be more then willing to insert it back into the game.So erm yeah, http://rapidshare.com/files/147824498/script.rar.htmlThe first file is eve_prol_a01.kds, the other .kds files are the rest of the text. I've already changed the font allowing us to insert text. We have a wiki but it;s just been started, may take a while for it to be up.http://kumatrans.wikidot.com/eve-prol-a01Feel free to sage if it's unrelated for whatever reason
There's still a few kinks to work out, but nothing insurmountable yet.
Well, THAT was fast. :)
>>3979You're not likely to get it to work without hacking the text engine to support more characters per bubble.

>>3981Worst comes to worse, we can just paraphrase dialogue that won't fit. gbatemp seems interested in getting on board, so there may be workarounds yet. The game was only just leaked yesterday, after all.
>>3982Paraphrasing will simply not work, you can give up on that idea right away. You'll need to find out if the text engine uses a hardcoded width or not. If it doesn't, you can replace the font with a narrower one. If it does, you'll either need to disassemble the thing and change all references to the width, or you might possibly pull it off by creating a font of two-letter combinations. You'll probably also need tools to take apart and put together .kds files. They don't seem too complicated, though.

Just for the sake of it. Apart from the error in the 4th image everything seems to be fine, for now.
Fixed it.
Nevermind, I have given up. There's too many errors for me to fix. http://rapidshare.com/files/148041199/crap.rar.htmlIf anyone wants to carry on, replace the font with Doki's and hex edit the file. After "I forgot to tell" everything fucks up and I can't fix it. in b4 massive sage
Kumatrans is still alive, at kumatrans.wikidot.comAnd we are currently in need of an advanced rom hacker to implement Variable Font Width into kumatanchi. We also could always use more translators. Thanks.

I notice our ever-so-culturally-significant translation of the legendary Kusomiso Technique has also fallen off the board! It is time for another repost! The full original can be found here: http://gaty.hp.infoseek.co.jp/kusomiso.html

It's "Backbeard", not Blackbeard.
Hey Cosmo Gunny, where did you put 2chgrounds?
There appears to be a collection of 44 of these at:http://torot.net/main/comic/backbeard/beamite.htmOriginally, Backbeard was the nickname used by a notorious critic of lolicons, who's name was derived from a monster in European mythology (the giant eyeball thingy). Not surpisingly, they made a meme out of it, as well as a -tan mascot, Beako, who is supposedly Backbeard's daughter, and frequently voices the tagline "You Damn Lolicon!"Anyway, would like to bump to see if anyone's interested in translating these.

This thread is for pictures of real places that make an appearance in Emma. Here's one that shows up in, among others, episode 4 - the Triple Arch entrance to London's Hyde Park.
We are told that Emma lives in "Marylebone Street". As it happens, there are THREE streets of this name, in the Marylebone quarter... so which one is it?
These days, that "High Street" is Marylebone High Street, while the perpendicular Marylebone Street is now just New Cavendish Street. However, there's also a Marylebone Lane and Marylebone Mews.http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.520157,-0.150343&spn=0.004723,0.006091&hl=en
Yes, but at the time of Emma, New Cavendish street was just the short bit between Upper Marylebone Street (UMS) and Greater Marylebone Street (GMS). Marylebone Lane (ML) is also visible in that map, in >>780 above. It's the twisty lane below the "Great" in Great Marylebone Street. In other news, has anyone noticed that the estate of the Jounes' has moved from being a large palatial house, obviously located inside London's boroughs, to a more country-estate type of place? Looky, looky: picture from volume 1 page 31 and from Episode 2 of the anime.Obviously, the animation crew felt they wanted to emphasise the wealth of the Jounes family.BTW, can anyone recognise the Jounes estate in the anime? I've been browsing pics of stately homes for the past couple of days, and I haven't found one that looks just like that - though several have come close. I suspect that it's an amalgam of several.
Seen during Emma's and William's chat near the end of ep. 4, the Prince Albert Memorial was unveiled in 1876 by Queen Victoria, as a memorial to her late husband, Prince Albert. The architect was Sir Gilbert Scott, and the monument features the sculpture of numerous artists.http://www.speel.demon.co.uk/other/albmem.htm
Here's an actual photograph of Regent Street (the long, curved street on which part Hakim's and William's elephantback excursion took place). The picture is from the late 19th century, and is therefore from Emma's time. Note the extreme similarities between this picture and the anime's rendition - the animators have seen this exact picture, I guarantee it.Designed between 1811 and 1830, by John Nash (with inspiration from the Rue de Rivoli in Paris), Regent Street and Regent's Park were intended to provide a residential quarter for the increasing number of affluent Londoners.
Umm... I'm actually in London right now. I was wondering if the area of Marylebone was destroyed in the Blitz. Maybe I can take pictures of where Emma supposedly lives. And of course I'll take the usual pictures of Hyde Park and stuff.
This is where you'll find the various Marylebone streets nowadays:http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.518845,-0.149927&spn=0.003868,0.006387&hl=enFON would place Emma's place a bit further west, though: See >>777 for more discussion.By all means go have a look, and tell us.
>BTW, can anyone recognise the Jounes estate in the anime? Frederick Hall, 1851-1908Cecil Mor(e)land ex BohmOnly distinguishing difference is the missing window in the tympanum (which in itself was a pretty strange thing for Morland to put there).Déchy [10660721ff] has enough material for it to have possibly served as a reference, however it's most likely a false positive, heh.
