excuse me could somebody translate this?

thanks a lot in advance m(v__v)m
>> No.559
Well here's the beginning of a translation:

http://wakaba.c3.cx/notes/notes.pl?image=http%3A%2F%2Fcerealandmilk.net%2Fiichan%2Fimg%2Fsrc%2F1111795214632.jpg

Anyone feel like figuring out the rest?

At some point, I should get this script integrated with the image board, to make this kind of stuff easier.
>> No.560
More info on the script itself here: http://wakaba.c3.cx/sup/kareha.pl/1111785884/
>> No.561
That's a pretty nifty annotation gadget.

BTW, I've added a few minor bits.

Hmm...
vc: bonish ("Having an erect penis"?)
>> No.575
>>559
That script is so sexy I get a party in my pants.
>> No.576
It just got sexier!

Make sure to reload to get the new JS and CSS files loaded, and make sure to use Firefox to make it pretty. (It works in IE, but is significantly less sexy.)

Hi there, greetings from /tm/. While working on a side story in Kagetsu Tohya (Nanako-chan SOS!) the translator was a bit uncertain about a couple of lines, maybe anyone here can help?

The first line is the most mysterious one.

Oh, and the picture is the main staff roll, which hasn't been translated yet either. If someone here is bored having that in English would be nice too, but it's not as important.

>> No.3093

Context really is critical when trying to translate Japanese. Just dumping lines out of context like that is not likely to be all that useful.

>> No.3094

Since I don't know how much context you need:

http://rapidshare.com/files/17963300/05_nanako-chan_sos_.txt.html

This is the text file the line numbers refer to.

>> No.3099

I haven't read the whole text, so this can be incorrect.

L78:
(1) It seems X asked Y what is the content of a book or letter. (This is just a random guess, but possibly a cursed item, like "Death Note".)

L78 seems Y's answer. Y teased X by NOT telling what it was, saying, "(Giggling) You'll enjoy it if you read it. Well, pay one year of your lifetime in return."

(Maybe the latter half of the line is a joke.)

>> No.3101

L219
Maybe firstly X said to Y that X would cook something for Y. And then X admitted X was not a good cooker.

"Even I said so, all I can cook are Chaahan (fried rice), Kimch Chaahan -- Chaahan with Kimchi, or fried vegetables that just I throw all of them around there at once into the pan."

>> No.3102

Thanks, you've been very helpful!

>> No.3104

L1882:

It seems the hard times they had to go through ended rather suddenly.
"呆気(あっけ)" is "a surprise."
Literally, "あっけなく" means "without a surprise." But this phrase usually implies something ended suddenly without any preceding sign or event that could have surprised or impressed you.
(By the way, "あっけに とられる" means "be very surprised.")

L1882:
The ending/final/conclusion came suddenly like a parcel delivered by an express service.

>> No.3107

L759 is very difficult to me. So, I write some hint only.

What I can read from the line is:
(1) X had a very hard time before.
(2) So, X believed X understood what death was like.
(3) But the speaker Y thinks X doesn't really know it yet.
(4) Y may be a little sarcastic or regretting.

(There is some possibility that X and Y are the same person and Y is regretting his own misconception.)

I don't know how to translate なまじ.
なまじ is an adverb, which means a certain fact generally considered to be good is counterproductive in the mentioned special case because its amount is not enough to produce good result or is inappropriate for the occasion; and it would be worse than nothing.

For instance, suppose someone who inherit some money started a new business and becomes bankrupt; He is now poorer than before he got the money. People would say "なまじ遺産をもらったせいで、彼は不幸になった." (Regrettably, the fact he inherited the money made him unhappy.)

A word for word translation may be:
"Is that the (first) point you (have to) hit/stab/attack?"

This is a variation of a commonly used phrase when you answer to someone who attacks or criticizes against a smaller problem. It means "What are you saying? I'm sure there is a more important thing you have to worry."

I don't know this picture but I guess...

Someone (maybe the girl printed on the bill) pointed out the mistake about the breast size, but it should have been a smaller problem than the fact that someone else made the poster and put it onto the wall. Possibly, she was supposed to say, "Who made this!", "What's this? Take it off!" or something. But she didn't care. She just said the number was incorrect.
