I've always wondered where everyone's from in this discussion group - am i the only one from my country in this group? how "globalised" is Emma and her fanbase? Not sure how many people are curious... but i'll start first - hopefully the list will grow:
I'm from Singapore!
I'm from Italy!

I'm from Germany

Wow!! This is really impressive! How many continents do we have covered - Asia, Europe, North America... Whoa. Isnt it great that a common interest and love can actually converge such a diverse group of people to this little discussion group?
What was that Chinese proverb...translated Those fated to meet will converge despite a thousand miles apart; those unfated to meet will never converge even if they are neighbours.
And cool Meggs!! We call the same little red dot home!! (For those who do not know, Singapore is a tropical metropolitan independent country in Asia. And if you have watched the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 trailer and heard Chow Yun Fat say: Welcome...to Singapore, please know that while you are very welcome to visit my island city, it presently looks nothing like how it's portrayed in the trailer/movie - nope, no bathhouses, or pirates running around.)
Enough said - let the list continue to grow!!
+1 Australia
I'll keep in mind that there are no pirates! (Though I assumed so, seeing as how when I visit America, no women are running about in large hoop skirts!).
;_; It appears I am the only one in Canada! I feel so lonely!
when I start up the torrent now I'm getting a "bad data from tracker" message. I'll leave it on all mornin while I'm at class, but so far it's not starting just an FYI.
sorry wrong post. I'm an idiot.
zenaida, i think there is also a japanese saying, "birds of the same feather, flock together" hehehe
Very true Judgemaster, but doesnt that saying carry a negative connonation? Haha. Anyway i realise there are no Japanese among us...i wonder whether it is the language barrier? Hmm...
And dont be lonely Livre, at least you've got the Internet and us - breaks all the physical and geographical barriers :)

I am from kolkata,India
I guess I am the first from the land of the rising sun.
I never thought a love story staged in victorian era England would become so popular around the world.
I wonder if Hollywood would pick it up to create it a real-life version?
that would be interesting hehehe, but could they sum up all the seven volumes in just one movie? I think HBO should make it a short series(drama). That way, they can make it long, without sacrificing any events in the manga.
Better idea, let BBC do it. I think they would have better knowledge concerning the historical background.
How are the British taking this story anyways?
I think they could have done better with some of the phrases in the translation I read.
Im from the Dominican Republic, the caribbean..........I love Emma VR, but i am farrrrr away to understand the original language ..so thank you very much for the Subs...

It's neat how international the people on these boards are. Emma fandom for international community building and relations! :P
So lets get into planning this live discussion. We should take a poll of what instant messaging system is the most popular.
Then from there we can go into dates and times :D

I'm from Hungary, near Budapest.
Well, we do have that nice, friendly link to our IRC channel on the front page, and all the usual iichan/iitran guys are on a lot of the time. That being said, planning some grand chat-a-thon at the end of the series would be fine too.

A friend showed me the subs, and when I first pointed out that the [iichan] meant it had been translated by the idlechan translation group he started twitching, saying 'they're everywhere'. He seems slightly worried by most of the chan boards.
Excellent translations!
Finland, though I've never read Emma
