Close, but not quite. It looks to me like this sidestory ends with Emma going off on her date with William to the Crystal Palace. The epilogue of chapter 2 is much too soon for that event.

The Crystal Palace outing doesn't take place till Volume 2, so the thimble that Emma finds is most probably the one that they were looking for in the epilogue of Vol.1 Chapter 2 :) I suppose we can assume that they've been looking for it for 5 chapters...
