I really enjoyed this, and I'm itching to do some more as soon as Hinata gets back (without whose help this wouldn't be possible - I sure can't read those kanji). Question is, what to do next? For our next project, I suggest we pick something easier, because this one almost killed me. I suggest doing a couple of the doujinshi-selling alien comics to relax.

In case you're wondering who I am, I'm the guy from Hongfire mentioned in the previous post. waves at everyone I hope that it's ok that I uploaded his work. I gave him credit. Fantastic translations, by the way.
If you, for any reason, want me to take them down, I'd do it, but I wanted other people to be able to learn about, and read Awatake Takahiro's works.
I (and another user on Hongfire) have some of his untranslated works uploaded there, in case you need more stuff to translate (or want to add it to your collections). They are Proxima 3.1 (314 pages), Higashio (24 pages), Minimiminoka (26 pages), Nishino (24 pages), Uriatama 1 (26 pages), Uriatama 2 (38 pages), and one of his games, その駅をおりて農道に (don't have English name). For Proxima 3.1 and the game, do a search for "gima". It's on page 4 of the one with the most replies. The .rar's password is "hongfire". The others are in the other topic that shows up in the same search, in the fifth post.
I'd love to help if I knew any Japanese at all, but all I can do is wish you luck and cheer you on from the sidelines. Keep up the good work! (^_^)
No problem, it's not like people who translate things without any permission can tell anybody else what to do with the results either!
Are you working on any new translations? I'd really love to read more of Awatake's works, but I can't understand Japanese... I have to settle on looking at the pictures and inferring the plot, which is not very easy to do with him.
(On a side note, the "posting rules" link at the top of the page seems to be broken. As such, I can't check the rules, so I hope that I'm not breaking any rules by posting here while not contributing anything really meaningful to this topic...)
Update: I took my posts down, because he started IP blocking (I'm assuming that it's my fault), and sent him a message hoping that he will unblock the IPs. Just do a Rapidshare search for "awatake" on 4chan for the 5 short works (if you have not downloaded them already), then delete this post.
You said to forward the .lhz file to you, but you did not give any contact info, and I'm not familiar with this site's internal mail feature, since I have only posted in this thread before, and am not familiar with the inner workings of the site... Where/how should I forward it?
Actulay he started IP blocking after a exchange of several emails with me. He blames all forginers for his lack of sales, and upon me trying to explain to him he called me stupid and told me from now on there would be IP blocking.
I am highly insulted by his lack of respect and childish behaviour. I do hope someone posts his "Deep in a Thicket" here for us to enjoy, because obviously the racist fool dosnt care about his white fans.
As far as I can tell the above post and the similar posts like it made on Hongfire and other forums several years ago are a fabrication. Awatake has been entirely courteous to me in his Twitter communications as well as when I met him personally at Comiket, and he did grant permission for fan translations to be made. I'm not sure why "kona" makes up stuff like this; I'm guessing "kona" received some sort of takedown notice and has been angry ever since.
Hmm... Several people have told me that he does not like anyone posting his stuff, which is understandable, since he sells them to make a living. I have seen messages on his site on occasion telling people to take down his work.
It is nice to know that he is willing to allow fan translations. Perhaps you can somehow make an arrangement with him where you translate his work for him (perhaps for a flat fee, or a small percentage of the profit from slaes, unless you are willing to offer it for free), and he sells the translated work on the English DLsite. His sales would likely go up if there was a translated version available on the site, because not everyone knows to look here.
