Dunno if people knew about this, but...

Any chance of an English-translated 'repeater' site? >_>
It was just announced at SDCC. Watch out, iitran. Yen Press belongs to the anti-scanlation coalition. They would love nothing more than to sue scanlators and their readers.
Actually, no, it was released on 08/15.
I managed to get the raw, I could post a link there if whispers is okay with that...
>>51 Does the chapter continues with Amira and Karluk or Mr. Smith?
Goddamnit!
As someone said before with series published in France, in Spain it happens just the same thing: If we ever get to have any manga published, then translations are a complete failure or the series get suddenly stalled indefinitely.
Geezzzz.
It continues with Smith and Talas, just where the story was left in the previous chapter.
It also seems that there are some complications with Talas, I think some other guy want to marry her or something like that, but can't tell for sure, since I can't speak Japanese...
the raws.... the raws T.T
we need the raws T.T
We'd really rather you don't post any scans here of licensed series.
There are sites dedicated to such things; use them for that if you must.
Please, no direct links to raws or translations here. I'll have more to say later.
Ok, no problem, it's your board after all =)
By the way, are you gonna translate some new manga? If so, from the Fellows?
Let's see how long it lasts this time...

Here's what I THINK is going on, not entirely sure. It's all complete speculation.
Girl A (I can't figure out her name) likes Kenta, and ran after him when he impulsively left with the telescope, but was embarrassed when their classmates teased them with the chalk drawing. She composed a text message suggesting a date, but chickened out and didn't send it.
But Erina also liked Kenta, and asked Girl A to deliver a note to him. Because Erina had that courage that girl A didn't, Erina and Kenta began dating. Erina would send text messages to girl A about their dates, not realizing how girl A felt about him.
She felt angry that her popsicle stick said "winner," which was so ironic while watching the two of them together, throwing the stick down in disgust.
She didn't have the courage to sign up to go to the "Let's Go See the Summer Triangle!" festival that Kenta organized. She saw Erina had already signed up (with a little heart next to her name), and fantasizing about how she would feel seeing Kenta and Erina there together, she once again chickened out.
Thanks for this, I reccon your spot on !
My guess would be that she's talking about what Talas was supposed to buy at the market, so I don't think it's anything relevant for the story =)
Cue/Mogura and I guessed that she'd just returned from moving a bunch of stuff out of a room they were preparing for Smith to stay in, and so her Mother-in-law was asking where she'd moved it to. It's just some small talk so that Smith can do a o_O face without being noticed. :)
We were puzzled by "Everything has its price." What DOES that mean in that context. But that's what it literally says, so we left it alone even though we didn't understand it.
^ maybe it's say everything has its place?
right side text in the last page (from raw), what it's mean?
"Will Smith become husband number 6? Will this be the end of his journey?"
^ thank you
Many thanks for the chapter.
@"the way she draws her characters face and expression just blow's my mind I love her work"
(some extractions ahead from an online review [hxxp://dearauthor.com/wordpress/2007/02/22/manga-review-emma-a-victorian-romance-by-kaoru-mori] only to help with words).
I love how the author, IMHO, masters the "quiet reflective moments" very well -- panels overflowing with emotions, very little dialogue but they say plenty! I think that she knows well when to use them. She started with a few in "Emma"; e.g., the lovely but sad first five pages of ch.10 where Emma goes through the motions of cleaning her mistress / teacher’s house after the older woman dies. The author found / created more occasions in Otoyomegatari where such panels fit naturally, starting at the very first pages of the first chapter, followed by many others scattered through the rest of the same chapter and all along thus far.
"We were puzzled by "Everything has its price.""
I took that to mean "Nothing is free for the taking in the market" (hence, no thievery, i.e. taking things without paying, in my market).
But then I didn't really get the next line - "You can take them." Who is he speaking to about what? Is it supposed to be a continuation of what he was saying about stealing? Or is he saying Smith can take his stuff? (But... of course the market manager wouldn't make them pay for returning their things?) Or something about hauling the thief away?
He meant, "You can have your stuff back that was stolen."
one quiestion:
Do you have the intention to traduct the "Shirley's especial" ?
On one of the other posts, you mentioned it was because Shirley was licensed. Would you reconsider it now CMX is being shut down at the end of the month? :(
So after July 1st we may (keeping fingers crossed) see Shirley Madison continue to be translated then? :) Well I hope you guys do continue with it. BTW good job on Otoyomegatari. I love love love the works of Mori Kaoru. :) <3
>>6 Oh! Please do scanlate it! I loved your work on Shirley and Otoyamegatari -- your translation and editing is just so professional. puppy eyes
And it's just sad to hear about CMX shutdown. I'd always loved their seinen and josei titles.
Now that it's out, anyone know which of the chapters are in this?
http://www.amazon.co.jp/乙嫁語り-2巻-ビームコミックス-BEAM-COMIX/dp/4047265861
cover for volume 2 look like c11p11.
Work has begun. http://twitter.com/whispers_iitran for updates.
Thank you very much!
>"That letter has begun the unveiling of Otoyomegatari's true story -- Mr. Smith's travels along the Silk Road!!" -- Chapter 11 end note.
No more Amira!?
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.....
;_;
No way! I dont want to know about Smith's travels. I only care about Amira and her life. I really hope its not only to do with Smith's journey because without seeing Amira and Karluk, I dont think I will be that interested in reading Otoyomegatari. Anyways anyone knows when the next chapter is coming out?
So does this mean Smith will keep coming across other Brides and couples in his journey? Because the title of the manga is, Bride's stories
"22 Name: whispers : 2010-04-26 15:12 ID:jDEspfuw
2 months till the next one!"So, if my math is correct.. it would be around the end of the month. Whispers post it 4/26.
sorry for double post..
I thought theres only 12 chapters to this series? Can someone please confirm that?
Whether the story will focus on Smith or Amira, I'll still continue to read it, for it surely is the the creme de la creme of manga.
However, I'ld fain read more about Amira and Karluk, and the one thing I dread the most - Heaven forbid! - is the ending. Otoyomegatari must go on - forever...or at least somewhat forever.
PS: I have'nt thanked for the current chapter yet: Threehoundredandtwo 'thank you''s for the fine work of translation and editing.
Thank you all for your fascinating work on this title, especially Whispers for the amazing and sincere editing, notably on the nerve-wrecking chapter title pages! XD

As Whispers posted in twitter (http://twitter.com/whispers_iitran) :
"Otoyomegatari chapters are published on the 15th of even-numbered months."
Work has begun. See http://twitter.com/whispers_iitran for status updates.
I don't have enough words to appreciate your hard work. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your translation. We all really appreciate your efforts.
Are you going to do the omake chapter from the scan of volume 1 that's linked in the chapter 9 thread? It looks like it has a family tree, hopefully with all their names.
Thank you so much for your hard hard work :)
