 IIChan Translation Group is a spinoff from IIChan, an image board focusing on Japanese animation and culture. It's a fun place with a lot of talented and interesting people. Some of these people began translating manga, put out some projects, and decided to form a group.
OtoyomegatariOur latest project is the new manga series from Kaoru Mori, of "Emma" and "Shirley" fame: Otoyomegatari, or "Young Bride's Story." Mori's tale takes place in the 19th Century, along the "Silk Road" that connected Europe to the Orient, as Amira, a young nomad woman, arrives on horseback from her distant village to be betrothed to her even younger husband, Karluk.
Amira's new family is fascinated with her
nomad ways, and her bowhunting and equestrian skills. But back in Amira's homeland, dark forces are at work, threatening to throw
her happy new life into chaos...
Maid in Akihabara"Maid in Akihabara" is a live-action comedy/drama starring Mako-sama, the voice actress for Yurie-sama in Kamichu. She plays Saki, a girl in dire straits that needs to find a new job, fast! As luck would have it, she finds one... in a maid cafe in Akihabara that caters to anime-crazed otaku. Yurie's voice actress in a French maid outfit... what's not to like? But Saki undergoes culture shock as she adjusts to the moe otaku's world, making mistakes along the way, but also finding friends and discovering her SECRET MOE POWER. |
